Better-Burger Trailblazer Hires New Finance Leader, Promotes Two Other Employees
Back Yard Burgers has announced a key new hire and promotions to fill critical roles in its brand building efforts. The personnel additions have a collective wealth of experience in their respective fields and will play an integral role in Back Yard Burgers’ success and future growth.
Angela Murray, an accounting professional and CPA, joins the Back Yard Burgers team as Controller. Her previous experience includes manager of financial planning and analysis at Captain D’s and controller for 10 years at the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville.
Specializing in accounting and financial analysis, strategic planning, and accounting systems, Murray is highly effective at collaborating and communicating analysis and recommendations through all levels of an organization.
“We are excited to welcome Angie to the Back Yard Burgers team to lead our finance department. Her background and experience as a successful finance and accounting professional will serve our business well and will contribute to the overall growth of the brand,” said Dave McDougall, Chief Executive Officer of Back Yard Burgers.
In the promotions category, Lorraine Brenner has been elevated to Director of Human Resources and Field Training from her previous role as Human Resources Manager.
“Human resources and training is a key part of any company’s culture, and our team members are the assets of our business,” said McDougall. “Effective HR and training empowers employees to contribute to the company’s future growth and the accomplishment of our goals and objectives, and Lorraine is the perfect person to spearhead these areas.”
In addition, seven-year veteran employee Robert Fuller has been tapped as Back Yard Burgers’ Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain. Fuller previously served as Director of Operations Services. His prior experience includes Pizza Hut and Captain D’s in a variety of operations, training and support roles.
“Robert has been a key to our support for both our franchisees and for our company. His hands-on approach, willingness to do what it takes and commitment to the brand have been instrumental in moving Back Yard Burgers in a positive new direction,” McDougall said.
The moves are accompanied by a variety of strategic initiatives undertaken by the brand in the last year, including new brand positioning, new store design, updated uniforms, exciting new products and a state-of-the-art menu boards.
