It should be said that Sam Fox believes in Nashville. He’s already brought favorites True Food Kitchen and North Italia to the Music City, and he’s just getting started. Next meet: Blanco Cocina + Cantina, one of the first restaurants to open at the hotly anticipated, downtown-redefining Fifth + Broadway development.
Overlooking world famous lower Broad and the bright lights of the Honky Tonks, Blanco will add to the legendary district the one thing that is guaranteed to always make everything better: exceptional Mexican food and the best cocktails and tequila there is to offer.
It doesn’t get much better than this spot – an undeniable pre-game and late-night spot perfect for accompanying an evening at a Nashville Predators game, or a gig at The Ryman. Sam knows this menu is pretty much the perfect way to get off on the right foot (or keep the party going) on one of those unforgettable nights out.
Yet, Blanco is more than that. It is a destination unto itself. Sweeping, open windows overlooking the action on Broadway with a laid-back party vibe inside. And again, that next-level of fresh, crafted, delicious and vibrant Mexican food and drink – you could stay here all night or come here any time of day, for any meal, any occasion. Blanco is just that good.
Sam knows Mexican food and how to do it RIGHT. Raised in Tucson, AZ, he grew up eating Sonoran Mexican food. If you didn’t know, Tucson is the birthplace of the Chimichanga – a people’s favorite. In fact, Blanco will offer Chimichangas with four different fillings: short rib machaca, braised chicken, ground beef or bean and cheese. The “Chimi” is deep fried and smothered in cheese, can be ordered enchilada-style covered in red ancho chile sauce, and is served alongside guac, sour cream, pico, and rice & beans, of course. Yes, please!
We should also mention fan favorites like our Tiger Shrimp Fajitas with spicy garlic butter, Tacos on handmade corn tortillas (like Slow Cooked BBQ Pork with roasted corn slaw, pickled onion, crema fresca), Baja Breakfast Burrito with scrambled eggs, bacon, french fries, green chile, queso & house hot sauce on the side, and the Short Rib Machaca Cheese Crisp with guacamole & charred onion, to name a few!
