boloco has announced the latest addition to its team of globally inspired burrito masterminds, Alexandra Dunk, who will take on the role of marketing manager. Alexandra joins boloco with a strong background in operations, management, and marketing. Her responsibilities include executing boloco’s day-to-day marketing and social media strategy, implementing promotions restaurant-wide, and of course, playing an integral role in everyone’s favorite holiday: Free Burrito Day. Guests can find her tweeting away as ^Slam Dunk on @bolocobuzz addressing all boloco-related needs… but watch out for this trickster, as she was the brains behind boloco’s annual April Fool’s Day Joke, the #guacapocalypse.
Alexandra joins boloco with several years of experience within the food service industry. Her experience began at L’Espalier, Sel de la Terre, and Formaggio Kitchen and she recently worked in management at Georgetown Cupcake. Prior to boloco, Alexandra worked as an independent consultant helping Boston and New York food start-ups develop marketing strategy.
“We are thrilled to have Alexandra join the team,” said Patrick Renna, boloco’s CFO and interim CEO. “She brings great industry experience in marketing, brand management and operations. She’s been a loyal guest of ours for a long time, so she is familiar with our brand and our globally inspired menu. Her passion will be felt immediately in our company.”
Alexandra is originally from North Carolina, though she has lived in Boston so long that she considers it home. She’ll work out of the boloco headquarters above the Boston Common location and, when she’s not in the office, you’ll find her out training for her next half marathon and taking part in Boston’s running community. Jury’s still out on the newest boloco team member’s absolute favorite burrito, but she is a frequent order-er of the New England Harvest Salad and guacamole (on everything).
boloco believes that even a burrito aspires. The Boston-based family of 22 restaurants and over 400 team members serves globally inspired burritos, bowls, smoothies and shakes in locations throughout the Eastern United States. boloco’s unique purpose is to use a simple burrito to transform the lives and futures of people working in food service, for which it won the New England Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2012. In addition, boloco is 2-Star Certified by the Green Restaurant Association and continually takes important baby steps to improve its environ-mentality.
