Brixx is Fired Up to be in FishersWood fired restaurant opens in new Depot at Nickel Plate development

Brixx is Fired Up to be in FishersThe oven at Brixx Wood Fired Pizza is stoked up to 600 degrees and open for business. Brixx is the first restaurant to open in the brand new Depot at Nickel Plate mixed-use development at 8594 E. 116th Street, just a short walk from Fishers’ Town Hall complex. Owners Jim and Tom Lessaris and Tom Scaggs are ready to introduce Hamilton County to its favorite new destination for wood fired pizza … and late night snacks. Brixx will be open until 1 a.m. six nights a week.

Brixx specializes in creating pizzas built on scratch made dough, topped with a wide array of fresh ingredients and cooked in a wood burning oven to infuse them with the natural flavors of the wood. The menu also features salads, pastas and sandwiches complemented by 24 craft beers on tap, 14 wines by the glass and cocktails.

The signature items on the Brixx menu are made from scratch every morning. It’s this focus on freshness that attracted cousins Jim and Tom Lessaris and Scaggs to Brixx and convinced them it was a perfect fit for Fishers.

“In a time when many restaurants are cutting corners, Brixx starts the day by making dough, kneading cheese curd into fresh mozzarella, rolling meatballs, making hummus and more, “said Jim Lessaris. “The commitment and passion Brixx has for fresh ingredients excited us. More importantly, we could taste that passion on the plate.”

Scaggs agrees. “One thing that continually strikes me is how tiny our freezer is. It’s barely big enough to hold ice cream. That’s a daily reminder that we’re here to make our food fresh every day.”

Brixx appeals to a wide array of palates and dietary needs, offering vegetarian and vegan items. In fact, the traditional and whole wheat doughs at Brixx are made with turbinado sugar and are 100 percent vegan. Vegan cheese is available at no extra cost. The restaurant also carries gluten-free dough and gluten-free bottled beer.

“Everyone deserves to go out and have a great pizza and a beer or a glass of wine when they want,” says Tom Lessaris. “We’re very proud to offer incredible pizza to our guests while catering to their dietary needs.”

Brixx offers seating for 120 inside and 60 more on an outdoor patio. It employs a staff of just under 50. The restaurant will be open 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday, offering daily drink and food specials. This is the first Brixx location in the state of Indiana.
