On East Coast, Brixx to open 3 new restaurants in 6 weeks

Broncos fans – and everybody else in the Denver area who loves great pizza and craft beer – will soon have a Brixx Wood Fired Pizza restaurant to call their own.

Well-known Denver restaurateurs, Trey and Angela Woessner, have purchased the rights to open a new Brixx in Denver, Colorado — the first Brixx location west of the Mississippi.  The Woessners are currently franchisees for Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar and have spent nearly two decades in the restaurant business. Their goal is to open the location by the end of 2014.

Along with Brixx’s growth in the West, the company’s expansion continues on the East Coast, where Brixx will open three new franchise locations in the next six weeks.  The new locales are Marietta, Ga., and Southern Pines, N.C., both opening in February, and Athens, Ga., opening in March.

“I can’t think of a more exciting way to start the year,” said Neil Newcomb, president of Brixx Franchise Systems, LLC. “An added bonus is that all four spots are owned by highly experienced franchise operators. They’ve taken their time and selected locations we think are ideal for the growth and success of our concept.”

Nick Vadgama, owner of Brixx in East Cobb, is also the owner of Brixx locations in Greensboro and Winston-Salem, N.C.  John Parker and Wayne Gross, owners of Brixx in Southern Pines, own Brixx in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.  Alan Overcash, the owner of Brixx in Athens, has been training in the Brixx system for more than three years and is part owner in a successful group of KFC locations. Construction on a company-owned location in Raleigh, NC — the second in that city — is underway.  And, plans are under review for a franchise location in Champaign, IL, the first in that state.

The first Brixx opened in Charlotte, N.C., in 1998. From day one, the menu has featured fresh salads, pastas, sandwiches and, of course, pizza cooked in a wood-burning brick oven. Menu items are accented by house made items ranging from focaccia bread to fresh mozzarella and traditional and whole-wheat pizza dough made daily.

Brixx appeals to a wide array of palates and dietary needs, offering gluten-free dough, vegetarian and vegan items. The restaurant bar features 24 craft beers on tap & 14 wines by the glass.
