The People Have Spoken. #ChickenFriesAreBack
Back by popular demand, Burger King Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: BKW) announced today that the same great-tasting Chicken Fries originally launched in 2005, will return to restaurants nationwide for a limited time at participating restaurants. Sparked by an overwhelming number of enthusiastic tweets, Change.org petitions, dedicated Tumblr and Facebook pages and phone calls from devoted fans, these voices are the reason this cult favorite menu item is back. Since Chicken Fries were taken off the Burger King menu in 2012, the ongoing guest outcries reached a point where they could no longer be ignored. Chicken Fries are made with premium white meat chicken coated in a light crispy breading seasoned with savory spices and herbs. Shaped like fries, Chicken Fries are perfect to dip in any of the BK delicious dipping sauces including BBQ, Honey Mustard, Ranch, Zesty, Buffalo and Sweet & Sour.
For the fanatics that inspired the comeback, Burger King is selling exclusive Chicken Fries fan gear on eBay.com/BurgerKingFanShop for a limited time only. The memorabilia celebrates the triumphant return of Chicken Fries and includes commemorative t-shirts, mugs, bumper stickers, pins, temporary tattoos and more. All profits will be donated to the Burger King McLamore Foundation.
“Our fans have spoken, and we had to listen. On peak days we’ve seen one tweet every forty seconds about Chicken Fries, many of them directly petitioning, begging, for us to bring them back. When you have guests who are this passionate about a product, you have to give them what they want,” said Eric Hirschhorn, Chief Marketing Officer North America, Burger King Corporation. “We want to do right by our guests by bringing them back for a limited time.”
Chicken Fries are available at the recommended price of $2.89 with nine pieces per order now at participating Burger King restaurants nationwide for a limited time only while supplies last.
