Fast Casual Seafood Franchise Promotes Janet Duckham to Chief Supply Chain Officer and Nancy Ward to Vice President of Training

Captain D’s, the leading fast casual seafood restaurant, announced today that Janet Duckham and Nancy Ward have been promoted to chief supply chain officer and vice president of training, respectively. In her role as chief supply chain officer, Duckham will lead the worldwide purchasing functions, oversee all functions of quality assurance, as well as manage all aspects of distribution and logistics. As vice president of training, Ward’s responsibilities include implementing Captain D’s systematic training programs, creating innovative internal development programs for the brand’s operators at every level, and supporting the company’s dynamic growth.

Duckham started at Captain D’s six years ago as vice president of purchasing and added the company’s quality assurance department after her first year. She excelled in both roles and was highly instrumental in advancing all aspects of Captain D’s complex logistics, sourcing and distribution, as well as food quality, safety and pricing. An industry veteran, Duckham is one of 35 worldwide executives that govern the Groundfish Forum, a worldwide seafood organization representing over 60 countries.

Captain D’s welcomed Ward to the team in 2012 as a human resources manager. She steadily grew to director of training and most recently served as assistant vice president of training where she successfully led and advanced the Captain D’s training department. Her accomplishments include the development and implementation of restaurant management training for all levels, establishment of best-in-class new restaurant opening support and new innovative video training programs. Previously, Ward held senior operations roles at Arby’s Restaurant Group and NPC International, both of which honored her with the prestigious “Of the Year” award to recognize her outstanding performance.

In 2016, Captain D’s closed its fourth successive year of record high system-wide AUV. The brand also produced its 21st consecutive quarter and sixth consecutive year of positive growth. Additionally, Captain D’s experienced a surge of franchise and corporate development, opening 13 locations nationwide in states like Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas and Virginia.
