As if celebrated Chef Kimmy Tang’s team of culinary experts wasn’t already enough for Californians, the Vietnamese restaurant 9021Pho has another talented name added to its list – that of Kevin Hee. Kevin joins the prestigious chain of casual service restaurants as the Executive Chef.
The announcement was made by 9021Pho’s CEO Alfred De Carolis. He said, “Mr. Hee brings with him over 15 years of culinary experience and a decade of professional experience in top-end restaurants. We are proud of having him as part of our already brilliant team lead by Chef Kimmy.” The CEO further added, “We would like to welcome him to our team as our Executive Chef and we also want to tell our patrons across all our locations that 9021Pho just became even better in its offerings when it comes to the finest Vietnamese cuisine with a touch of the French and Californian taste.”
Kevin Hee previously held the position of Chef De Cuisine at Fig and Olive Newport Beach. He was the Executive Chef at Gordon Ramsay Steak Vegas and at Mina Group Restaurants for almost a decade.
Hee was the opening chef for Gordon Ramsay Steak and took the Top Ten Steakhouse award-winner to unparalleled success during his 2 year stint there. He was also the food judge for “Masterchef.”
It was under the aegis of this experienced Executive Chef that Bourbon Steak received the Four-Star rating by the coveted Forbes Travel Guide. Hee has been instrumental in taking several other restaurant brands to stardom under his able leadership and guidance.
9021Pho is a chain of restaurants inspired by the renowned Chef Kimmy Tang. It has a Vietnamese centered menu with elements of French and Californian cuisine. The chain has created a brand name for its unique niche which provides a relaxed atmosphere, healthy food and an exotic selection of French and Californian wines.
Chef Kimmy Tang is the inspiration behind the 9021Pho brand. She started her career working in a Chinese restaurant and gained further experience in a Japanese restaurant. She has a passion for cooking from early childhood. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, she opened the Michelia Asian Bistro. She has travelled across the world to master traditional recipes of more than 8 countries across Europe and Asia. After gaining years of experience all across the world, the master chef opened 9021Pho in 2009.
9021Pho currently services customers in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, Glendale, and Thousand Oaks. With Kevin Hee joining the already star-studded team, the French Vietnamese-themed restaurant is expected to open 50 locations in the next three to five years. Hee’s addition to the team could prove to be a major step in this direction.
