Chicken Salad Chick To Open First Texas Restaurant

Fast-Casual Restaurant Concept to Open Three Locations in Fort Worth Area

Chicken Salad Chick To Open First Texas RestaurantChicken Salad Chick, the nation’s only southern inspired, fast casual chicken salad restaurant concept, announced today its first location in Texas will be opening this spring in North Fort Worth at 8825 Tehama Ridge Parkway, Suite 329. Located in the Presidio Towne Crossing Shopping Center, the state’s first Chicken Salad Chick is owned and operated by husband-and-wife team, John and Meggie Schissler, who will be opening two additional locations in the Fort Worth area over the next few years.

“Chicken Salad Chick is a beloved brand in the Southeast so when we decided to expand our presence to the Southwest, we wanted to partner with people who were just as passionate as we were about our concept. John and Meggie are the perfect example of the spirit that lives in every Chicken Salad Chick franchisee,” said Stacy Brown, Chicken Salad Chick founder. “Our success in the Southeast has exceeded our expectations, so we are all excited to introduce our concept to a brand new market like Fort Worth. We truly believe Chicken Salad Chick will be well received with guests throughout Texas and hope to continue to build our loyal following in the South.”

Meggie’s first experience with Chicken Salad Chick was in 2009 when she would meet local students at the restaurant as part of her ministry outreach. She fell in love with the brand and went on to work in Chicken Salad Chick’s corporate office as part of the marketing team. Her husband, John, was introduced to the brand in 2010 when Meggie brought him to experience what she referred to as the “best chicken salad” first-hand. Together, Meggie and John have extensive sales, marketing and restaurant experience. Meggie is also heavily involved in the local communities throughout Texas – her home state.

“After working in the corporate office for several years, and marketing this one-of-a-kind brand to cities across the Southeast, I couldn’t wait for the day when Chicken Salad Chick would open in Texas, my home state,” said Meggie, Fort Worth Chicken Salad Chick franchisee. “When that time finally came, John and I jumped at the opportunity to be able to share this fantastic product and story with the local community in Fort Worth. We’re looking forward to growing the brand throughout Texas and plan to open two additional locations once our first restaurant is up and running.”

The Chicken Salad Chick concept, born in Auburn, Ala., was established in 2008 in the kitchen of founder, Stacy Brown. When Stacy discovered that the local county health department would not allow her to continue making and selling her delicious recipes out of her home kitchen, she overcame that obstacle by launching her first restaurant with the business expertise of her future husband and fellow founder, Kevin Brown. Together, they opened a small takeout restaurant, which quickly grew; the company now has 49 restaurants across the Southeast.
