Whether they’ve been naughty or nice, guests can cross a delicious, stress-free meal off their Christmas wish list. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner all 24-hours of Christmas Day, Denny’s gives diners the gift of convenience during the hectic holiday season. In fact, last year Denny’s served more than 1.3 million guests on Dec. 25, making Christmas the diner chain’s busiest day for the third consecutive year.
“For many of our Christmas Day guests, eating at Denny’s has become a treasured holiday tradition. Once the presents have been unwrapped and the stockings are empty, families and friends come together to enjoy a tasty, affordable meal,” said John Dillon, @DillonJohnW, vice president of marketing for Denny’s. “As America’s Diner we’re here to take care of our guests so they can enjoy what matters most this time of year: good food and quality time spent with loved ones.”
Denny’s busiest Christmas Day hours fall between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., with many guests opting for all-day diner favorites such as the Build Your Own Grand Slam®, the most popular menu item sold on Dec. 25. This customizable breakfast feast ensures every guest gets exactly what he or she wants for Christmas – at least at Denny’s. For only $5.99, diners may choose any four of their favorite items, including two eggs cooked to order, bacon strips, buttermilk pancakes and hash browns.
This year, Santa’s helpers aren’t the only elves serving up holiday cheer at Denny’s. The diner is also offering guests a taste of Middle-earth to celebrate the Dec. 13 release of “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM). The limited time menu features seven authentic dishes inspired by “The Hobbit” films, including festive seasonal flavors such as Bowman’s Brew Pumpkin Coffee and Sweet Potato Pecan Pancakes, which are sure to satisfy even the hungriest of hobbits. For more traditional fare, the Dwarves’ Turkey and Dressing Dinner offers a twist on a holiday favorite with sliced turkey breast, home-style stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce served with a choice of two sides and dinner bread.
Guests may enjoy a sweet finish to their Christmas Day meal with Radagast’s Red Velvet Pancake Puppies® or Bard’s Pumpkin Pie Milk Shake, featuring a decadent blend of real pumpkin pie and premium vanilla ice cream. Diners can also pick-up traditional pumpkin and pecan pies, served by the slice or bought whole for just $8.99, or Denny’s Hobbit-inspired gift cards for a last-minute treat on their way to visit family and friends this holiday season.
“Whether it’s Christmas, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day we’re always open, offering the same great value, variety and convenience that guests can find at Denny’s every other day of the year,” added Dillon.
