Fast Casual Wood-Fired Rotisserie Chicken Restaurant Personalizes Dining Experience With Mobile Technology
Dallas-based Cowboy Chicken is ringing a new kind of dinner bell, and it sounds a lot like a smartphone. The 22-unit fast casual rotisserie chicken restaurant chain announced today the launch of its new Cowboy Chicken app, now available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
“We are excited to offer our guests the convenience of a mobile app and wanted a product that could grow with our company,” said Sean Kennedy, Cowboy Chicken’s president and CEO. “We have incorporated mobile ordering and payment along with a loyalty program in a user-friendly way that perfectly aligns with the welcoming experience of our restaurants.”
The new Cowboy Chicken app enables guests to:
Pay on the Go: add their preferred payment method to the app and easily pay with their phone at checkout
Order Ahead: browse the menu, personalize options, order from the app for pick up or delivery and receive notifications once order is ready
Earn Rewards: quickly and conveniently redeem rewards, including $5 earned for downloading the app, $5 for referring a friend, $5 for every $50 spent and $3 as a birthday reward
Buy Gift Cards: send gift cards directly from the app to the recipient’s email
Locate: find the closest location, directions to the restaurant and operating hours
Create a Personalized Profile: set up a profile (including dietary restrictions) for a truly personalized experience
The app was created by LevelUp Agency, a Boston-based company that connects smart businesses and loyal guests through mobile apps, guest engagement and reward programs, to offer diners a digital extension of the Cowboy Chicken brand.
“The app is completely customized for Cowboy Chicken, taking into account their brand and values,” said Emma Beckerle, director of client services and account management at LevelUp. “Our designers worked with Cowboy Chicken to ensure the app has a “Cowboy Cool” design that puts guests first and makes them feel welcome.”
The new app is helping the restaurant chain give guests more of what they want, not just on the menu but also in their wallets. “Cowboy Chicken’s 10% back loyalty program is pretty incredible, and the $5 for referring your friend is also quite appealing, especially since the friend also receives $5,” notes Beckerle.
Cowboy Chicken has also integrated detailed dining preferences (dairy free, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian) into the mobile app user’s personal profile. “By having this level of detail, Cowboy Chicken can take all of this information into consideration when designing menus going forward,” Beckerle explains.
Cowboy Chicken serves all-natural, hormone-free rotisserie chickens that are hand-seasoned in store, marinated for 24 hours and then slowly roasted for two hours over a real wood-burning fire. Other dishes include signature sour cream tomatillo chicken enchiladas, abundant scratch-made sides such as Twice Baked Potaters, Baked Mac & Cheese, Ranchero Beans and seasonal cobblers baked in-house daily. Cowboy Chicken’s hearty and healthy dishes are available during lunch and dinner for dine-in, take out, catering and delivery.
