In a summer filled with new and innovative treats, the Dairy Queen system once again introduces a one-of-a-kind BlizzardTreat in August with a new M&M’SBrownie as the Blizzard of the Month flavor.
The decadent M&M’SBrownie Blizzard Treat is an explosion of chocolate flavors with a combination of M&M’S chocolate candy pieces and moist, chewy brownie pieces that are blended with creamy DQ vanilla soft serve and crowned with chocolaty topping. The product meets the consumer interest in brownie combinations as well as branded candies.
In August, the Dairy Queen system also will feature a Cheeseburger Lovers deal, which is two singles for $3 and two doubles for $4.
“In the DQ system, it’s the summer of Blizzard Treats and burgers,” said Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). “We are feeding the consumer need for value, innovation and variety for lunch, dinner, snack time or late night.”
The M&M’S Brownie Blizzard Treat is available in Mini, small, medium or large sizes or can be made into a DQ Cake. Blizzard Cakes, such as M&M’S Brownie as well as traditional DQ Cakes, are perfect for summer picnics and other special events, such as birthdays and anniversaries.
The Dairy Queen system began blending simple combinations of candies, brownies, nuts, cookies, fruits and DQ soft serve in 1985 to create the signature Blizzard Treat. Since then, one-of-a-kind flavors such as Chocolate Candy Shop, Turtle Brownie, Caramel Delight Pie, Midnight Truffle, Confetti Cake, Triple Chocoholic and Double Fudge Cookie Dough have delighted Dairy Queen fans as part of the featured Blizzard of the Month program, which began in 2003.
The incredible popularity of the Blizzard brand is what led the Dairy Queen system to initiate the Blizzard Fan Club in 2005 and the Dairy Queen Facebook fan page in 2008. Today, the Fan Club is 4 million members strong while the DQ Facebook fan page has more than 5 million friends.
