Dairy Queen restaurants will sweeten Valentine’s Day and the entire month of February with the return of Choco Covered Strawberry as the featured BlizzardTreat of the Month and with custom-decorated heart shaped cakes.
An indulgent combination of sweet strawberries blended with rich chocolate chunks and creamy DQvanilla soft serve, the Choco Covered Strawberry Blizzard Treat is available at all Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill restaurants nationwide beginning Feb. 1. Dairy Queen fans can enjoy Choco Covered Strawberry Blizzard Treats in four sizes including the popular Mini.
In addition, the Dairy Queen system will serve unique heart-shaped cakes during the most romantic month of the year. Many Blizzard Treat flavors, including Choco Covered Strawberry, easily can be made into DQ Cakes which are perfect for celebrating holidays and special events including Valentine’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries and more.
“It’s been said that the way to our hearts is through our stomachs, and we have that covered for Valentine’s Day and all of February with our popular Choco Covered Strawberry Blizzard Treat,” said Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). “We are also very proud of our cakes, and Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity for our fans to indulge in ‘America’s Favorite Cake.’”
In addition to signature treats, DQ Grill & Chill restaurants and other DQ locations that offer food also feature menu items such as the quarter- and half-pound GrillBurger made to order, as well as other delicious and unique food items, including deli-style Iron Grilled Sandwiches. Other menu offerings may include Grilled or Crispy Chicken Sandwiches and Salads; Chicken Strip Baskets; Shrimp Baskets; Quesadillas and Chili Cheese Dogs.
The Dairy Queen system began blending simple combinations of fruits, candies, cookies and nuts with DQ soft serve in 1985 to create the signature Blizzard Treat. The iconic treat has created the served upside-down Blizzard culture and since then, one-of-a-kind flavors such as Triple Chocoholic, Midnight Truffle and Confetti Cake have delighted Dairy Queen fans as part of the featured Blizzard of the Month program, which began in 2003.
