Decadent A Coffee and Dessert Bar started in Overland Park, KS in 2015. It was the brain child of Jeff Martin, who was the founder of Smallcakes A Cupcakery and Creamery. Martin saw the changing of the way people ate desserts and what they wanted. The concept was simple, create a place where people could get a high end dessert in a casual atmosphere for a reasonable price, while enjoying amazing small batch roasted coffee. It quickly became a success in the Kansas City area and then the menu expanded into breakfast sandwiches and what Martin calls “West Coast Waffles”.
“Not only do we have amazing desserts, we wanted to expand on our morning offerings and that is where we started to test Breakfast Sandwiches and Waffles, and not just any waffles, our waffles can come simple or crazy, with ice cream and sprinkles,” says Martin.
The Breakfast Sandwiches are made in-house using the fresh made croissants, glazed donuts, or a Brioche Bun. Pastries, muffin tops and many other sweet treats are available daily. Martin says, “We wanted a place where you could come and get fresh and high end quality items for a reasonable price and we created that with Decadent”. Decadent Desserts include the very popular Cookie Skillet, made in-house Cheesecakes, and The Founders Key Lime Pie to just name a few.
Decadent Coffee and Desserts opens its first store in Houston in early January. Store owner James Skaggs is super excited to start this venture. “James actually came to our Kansas location and fell in love with the product and the atmosphere and we couldn’t be happier that he is launching our brand in the Houston market,” says Martin. The location will be located at 4340 Westheimer Rd. Suite 150, Houston, TX.
