Dot Foods, the nation’s largest food redistributor, congratulates its Foodservice National Accounts Team on winning the 2012 Supply Chain Partner of the Year award from legendary pizza chain Godfather’s Pizza, Inc. (Godfather’s). The annual award recognizes the Godfather’s supply chain partner that best exemplifies exceptional customer service, innovations and quality.
Dot Foods started the National Accounts Program with just one account manager in 2005, in response to requests from distributor customers, suppliers and national accounts. Today, Dot Foods has 13 employees in its National Accounts department and work with 400 national chain accounts.
“We recognized that supply chain issues can be a challenge for a national chain restaurant and stifle the menu innovation that can set those restaurants apart from their competitors,” said Justin Calame, Dot Foods’ National Account Manager. “These restaurants are very important customers of our customers, direct distributors. So we began working with the national accounts to keep them apprised of Dot’s offerings and product availability. It’s been enormously well-received and has led to double-digit growth for Dot in this segment.”
Dot’s National Accounts team works with all stakeholders in the supply chain to provide solutions related to new product sourcing, limited time offers, test management and improving the quality and service related to the products that are delivered to the operators through Dot and our distributor customers.
“Our customers are able to leverage the largest product offerings in the industry with the shortest lead times in the marketplace. That leads to more innovation while better managing supply chain costs,” said Cullen Andrews, Director of National Accounts at Dot Foods. “We work with chefs from the initial menu R&D process to the final distribution plan through our distributor partners. We are excited to receive this award from Godfather’s that recognizes the value we bring to all business partners in their supply chain.”
Ron Gartlan, President and CEO at Godfather’s Pizza, commented on the effectiveness of Dot’s National Accounts program. “Dot enables us to engage with our distribution partners more effectively,” said Gartlan. “The number of items and short lead times they offer the distributors create an efficient way for us to maximize our supply chain and keep our menus exciting and competitive.”
