Eggs Up Grill Keeps Growth Moment Going in 2023

Breakfast, brunch and lunch brand signs 23 new deals in first eight weeks of 2023

Eggs Up Grill Keeps Growth Momentum Going in 2023Eggs Up Grill, one of the fastest-growing and most successful breakfast, brunch and lunch concepts, is outshining the competition in the better breakfast segment. So far in 2023, the Brand has signed agreements for 23 new restaurants on the heels of a record-breaking 2022. This rapid growth brings a region-wide presence of 170 Eggs Up Grills open, under development or committed to open by local franchise partners. The Brand recently released its 2023 FDD showing record-setting sales figures, with restaurant average sales volumes topping $1.375 million* for the top 50 percent of restaurants.

“Our Brand’s momentum coming out of 2022 was strong, with franchise prospects recognizing the opportunity that an Eggs Up Grill can provide to their portfolio. These sizable commitments from multi-unit franchise partners, as well as current franchise partners increasing their investment in our Brand, only reaffirm the unique guest appeal and scalability our business model provides in this growing segment,” said Ricky Richardson, CEO of Eggs Up Grill.

The 23 commitments include two, 10-restaurant agreements with multi-brand investors. Arya Restaurant Group, LLC, an investment group with QSR, c-store and hospitality experience, will develop 10 Eggs Up Grill restaurants across Central North Carolina. Tony and Bridgett Sawyer, currently 50+ unit franchisees of Sport Clips, will develop an additional 10 restaurants in the Hampton Roads, Virginia territory.

This year, four new restaurants have opened with eight more grand openings across the summer. Eggs Up Grill projects to end the year with more than 80 restaurants in operation, while continuing to add record levels of new franchise signings. New and existing franchise partners are supported through the new restaurant opening process by top-tier talent. Julie Krupa, who most recently served in development roles with Inspire Brands and Taco Bell, joined Eggs Up Grill in May as director of development. Krupa’s primary focus is assisting franchising in accessing the Brand’s robust support, moving efficiently through the real estate acquisition and development process to open restaurants quickly.

“Eggs Up Grill has a long, successful history of organic growth that is now attracting larger, multi-location franchisees that want to expand their portfolio. Additionally, there is a high percentage of existing franchise partners who are excited about their successes and are now pursuing new locations for their Eggs Up Grill businesses,” said Krupa. “I look forward to contributing to that growth, assisting franchise partners through the entire process, from soup to nuts, while maximizing the best practices already in place.”

And Ken Phipps, vice president of franchise growth, offered: “In my 20 years in franchising, I have never seen a brand that has the power of Eggs Up Grill. This includes a strong DNA, impeccable leadership, record-breaking sales, 25 years of success and a brand truly loved by its guests. With the addition of Julie and the support she provides, the development process is easier than ever, and it’s why we will continue to grow exponentially in the coming years.”

Contributing factors to Eggs Up Grill’s increasing growth and AUV are surges in dine-in guest counts, robust take-out sales, a refreshed catering offer, the growing popularity of its adult beverage platform and the rollout of Eggs Up Grill’s virtual brand – Biscuits, Bowls & Burgers.

Year after year, Eggs Up Grill has been named to Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 list as well as earning the number-one ranking in the breakfast franchise category three years in a row. In addition, Eggs Up Grill was named the FSR Breakout Brand of the year in 2023, ranked on the Franchise Times Top 500 list and also received its first Zor Award from Franchise Times. The Brand also ranked in the Top 500 by Nation’s Restaurant News and the Future 50 by Restaurant Business.
