Christmas tree-shaped desserts served FREE Dec. 22-24 at all 22 restaurants
Tis the season of giving, and El Fenix is getting in the spirit with a special surprise for their guests throughout Christmas weekend.
From Dec. 22 to 24, El Fenix guests will receive a FREE Christmas tree-shaped sopapilla to add a whimsical flourish to their holiday meals. The complimentary* powdered-sugar covered sopapillas will be served at the conclusion of each meal at all 22 El Fenix restaurants (across North Texas and at WinStar World Casino & Resort).
The deep-fried sopapilla is a popular Mexican pastry, similar to a donut. It’s homemade and hand-rolled at every El Fenix restaurant.
* Guests must purchase an entrée to receive complimentary sopapilla. One per person, per visit. Dine-in only. Available Dec. 22-24, 2015 only.
All El Fenix restaurants – except the WinStar World Casino & Resort location – will be closed on Christmas, with normal hours on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The restaurants will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
There are 22 El Fenix restaurants located throughout North Texas, and at WinStar World Casino & Resort. To find the one nearest you, visit ElFenix.com.
El Fenix was founded in 1918 by Mike Martinez, a Mexican immigrant who opened a small restaurant on the corner of Griffin Street and McKinney Avenue in Dallas. Often, at its main location in downtown Dallas, the lunchtime line of patrons spills out the front door and down Alamo Street. El Fenix is renowned as the originator of “Tex-Mex cuisine” and the restaurant’s Wednesday “Enchilada Dinner Special,” which features two cheese enchiladas, refried beans, and rice. Acquired by Firebird Restaurant Group in 2008, El Fenix was refurbished with freshened interiors and a revamped menu, while maintaining its signature core menu and products. In 2010 Nation’s Restaurant News named El Fenix one of its 50 All-American Icons, “restaurants that stole our hearts and stood the test of time.” For more information and locations, visit ElFenix.com.
