Fazoli’s, America’s largest premium Italian quick-service restaurant chain, has tapped Craig Sherwood to lead its nationwide franchising effort. Sherwood, who previously directed YUM! Brands’ non-traditional franchise activities, most recently was responsible for franchise development at Corner Bakery Cafe.
“Craig brings to Fazoli’s a wealth of experience and proven track record with a wide variety of well-known QSR and fast casual brands,” said Carl Howard, president and CEO. “We are excited to add Craig to an already extremely talented management team.”
Fazoli’s has been on a sales streak, having recorded 22 months of continuous same-store sales increases. A comprehensive revamp to its menu, the addition of limited table service and an extensive remodeling program are credited with turning around sales and sparking interest among current and prospective franchisees.
“Fazoli’s has reemerged as an exciting brand in an untapped segment,” Sherwood said. “As a result of the recent improvements and updates, Fazoli’s really fits with what consumers are looking for today – high quality food, fast service and a contemporary environment, all at a great price.”
Sherwood said Fazoli’s will be targeting operators of both traditional and non-traditional locations. The chain recently opened its first travel center unit, with several others in development.
An American family favorite for more than 20 years, Fazoli’s is a leading, next generation QSR franchise opportunity. With a premium menu of freshly prepared Italian entrees, Submarinos sandwiches and salads, a new service style featuring table service and a contemporary new restaurant design, Fazoli’s is well positioned for growth. Already America’s largest Italian quick-service chain with more than 220 restaurants, Fazoli’s is expanding in markets throughout the country. Founded in Lexington, Ky. in 1988, Fazoli’s was acquired by Sun Capital Partners in 2006. Visit http://fazolis.com/franchise/ for more information.
