Twenty-five restaurants are now accepting reservations for the inaugural Tacoma Restaurant Week, which will take the greater Tacoma culinary scene by storm mid-April, 2012. The two-week foodie event, held Sunday-Thursday, April 15-26, allows diners to experience the immense variety of Pierce County’s amazing restaurants at a fraction of the normal cost. In addition to regular menus, playing off the popular and beloved 253 area code participating restaurants will offer pre-selected three-course dinner menus – with three options per course – for $25 per person not including alcoholic beverages, tax and gratuity. Selected restaurants will also offer three-course lunch menus for $15, not including tax and gratuity.

During Tacoma Restaurant Week, locals and visitors alike may dine their way through Tacoma and Gig Harbor, socializing over delicacies from such notable restaurants as The Melting Pot, Stanley & Seafort’s, Pacific Grill, The Lobster Shop, Bite Restaurant, The Social Bar and Grill, Maxwell’s Restaurant & Lounge, C.I. Shenanigan’s, Primo Grill, Marrow Kitchen + Bar, Brix 25, The Office Bar & Grill, TWOKOI Japanese Cuisine, El Gaucho, Duke’s Chowder House and many others.
Participating restaurants will donate a $50 gift card to United Way Pierce County. Diners will also be encouraged to donate to United Way by texting $10 to 20222 to help fight homelessness in Pierce County.
“During Tacoma Restaurant Week, diners can plan and save for multiple experiences at various restaurants over the 10-day span,” says Tacoma Restaurant Week committee member, Ron Swarner, who publishes the Weekly Volcano newspaper. “It’s also a wonderful opportunity for people to venture out and enjoy cuisine they might not normally. And, on top of that, donations go to a great cause.”
As a bonus, Tacoma Restaurant Week diners will be eligible to win $50 gift cards to participating restaurants by simply adding their name and email to a raffle ballot. Raffle ballots will be collected throughout the 10-day span with winners drawn daily and a final drawing for the remaining gift cards held Thursday, May 3. Winners will be notified by email.
The Weekly Volcano alternative newspaper and a group of local restaurateurs created Tacoma Restaurant Week over a three-month period. The restaurants participating in the inaugural Tacoma Restaurant Week were selected by committee vote.
