La Madeleine Country French Café will open the doors to its first Oklahoma café in Tulsa on Tuesday, April 10. The Cherry Street location will welcome patrons to experience its authentic French cuisine and warm, inviting ambiance from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Dallas-based la Madeleine cafés specialize in preparing authentic country French cuisine including a variety of fresh-baked artisan breads, pastries and desserts, as well as signature salades, sandwiches and soupes, including its famous caesar salade, croque monsieur and tomato basil soupe.
“The Tulsa la Madeleine café opening is the culmination of our goal to bring delicious, authentic country French cuisine and our unique dining experience to Oklahoma,” said Phil Costner, la Madeleine president and chief operating officer. “It’s wonderful to be so warmly received by our fans and new guests alike and to be part of this vibrant community.”
In 1983, French native Patrick Esquerre opened the first la Madeleine café in Dallas, in efforts to provide guests the ability to “step into the French countryside – where the love of fresh food is celebrated, and everyday eating remains one of the simple pleasures of life.” Inspired by his mother Monique’s cooking, Patrick insisted on maintaining the integrity of French cuisine by using fresh ingredients and recipes that have been passed from one generation to the next.
Today, la Madeleine owns and operates more than 60 cafés in Texas, Georgia, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Louisiana and now Oklahoma, offering French country cuisine for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between.
The Tulsa café will open to the general public on April 10 and the first 50 guests will be gifted a jar of la Madeleine’s signature tomato basil soupe.
