First Watch Inks New Franchise Agreement, Headed For Omaha

Award-winning Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch restaurant First Watch has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement with Omaha-based Cutchall Management Company to open three restaurants over the next three years in Omaha.

The first restaurant is expected to open by the end of the year at 1222 S. 71st St. in the Bed Bath & Beyond-anchored Shoppes at Aksarben retail center. The 4,200-square-foot restaurant will hold an end-cap space formerly occupied by Burger Star and Donut Professor, and will feature an outdoor patio and large community table.

Cutchall, working with eight different restaurant concepts, currently operates more than 50 locations in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Utah and Texas.

“The First Watch brand really fits our strategy of ‘Best in Class,’” said Greg Cutchall, president and CEO for Cutchall Management Company. “We are excited to be chosen as the developer for the metro Omaha and Lincoln markets. With many healthy and one-of-a-kind menu choices, we feel it will be well received by the public. We chose the fast-growing Aksarben area, centrally located in Omaha, as the perfect location for our first First Watch location.”

First Watch is known for delivering an excellent dining experience and fast, friendly service. A recipient of more than 200 “Best Of” accolades in markets across the country, the restaurant features traditional favorites including pancakes, omelets, salads and sandwiches, as well as signature specialties such as the Chickichanga, Healthy Turkey Omelet and Fresh Fruit Crepes. All menu items are freshly prepared to order and the restaurant does not use deep fryers or heat lamps.

“Cutchall Management Company is a well-known franchisee in the Omaha market and has proven success with some of the most recognized brands in the restaurant industry,” said Kevin Hall, vice president of franchising for First Watch. “We’re looking forward to working with Greg and his team in expanding our reach and bringing our fresh approach to Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch even further out west.”

When the new First Watch restaurant opens, it will feature an interior design concept known as “Connect.” It connects traditional First Watch design elements with contemporary executions by maximizing natural light provided during the restaurant’s daytime hours, and incorporating color tones intended to convey the warm and inviting personality of the First Watch brand. The design also accentuates an open-kitchen concept, which reinforces First Watch’s honest approach to fresh food preparation.

First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The restaurant also offers guests complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.

Each of the restaurants will employ approximately 25 people.
