Award-winning Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch restaurant First Watch has announced plans to open its first restaurant in St. Petersburg, Fla., in the summer of 2013. The restaurant will employ approximately 25 people.
The new 3,600 sq. ft. restaurant will hold an end-cap space located at 4045 Tyrone Blvd. N. in Tyrone Crossings, a to-be-developed retail center that will sit in front of the Walmart- and PetSmart-anchored Lighthouse Crossings center near the Park Street intersection. First Watch will join Anytime Fitness in the newly developed center.
First Watch was recently voted the best brunch spot in the Tampa Bay area by Clear Channel Media and Entertainment listeners in its first annual iHeart Tampa Bay Awards.
“The St. Pete community has been extremely vocal about wanting a First Watch in their area, so it is only fitting that we expand our presence across the bridge,” said Chris Tomasso, chief marketing officer for First Watch. “This is a community that already knows our brand well, so we’re expecting this restaurant to be well-received.”
In late November, First Watch also announced plans to open its first restaurant in Wellington, Fla., in early 2013.
The new St. Petersburg restaurant will feature an interior design concept known as “Connect.” It connects traditional First Watch design elements with contemporary executions by maximizing natural light provided during the restaurant’s daytime hours, and incorporating color tones intended to convey the warm and inviting personality of the First Watch brand. The design also accentuates an open-kitchen concept, which reinforces First Watch’s honest approach to fresh food preparation.
First Watch is known for delivering an excellent dining experience and fast, friendly service. A recipient of more than 200 “Best Of” accolades in markets across the country, including several in the Tampa Bay area, the restaurant features traditional favorites including pancakes, omelets, salads and sandwiches, as well as signature specialties such as the Chickichanga, Healthy Turkey Omelet and Fresh Fruit Crepes. All menu items are freshly prepared to order and the restaurant does not use deep fryers or heat lamps.
In addition to serving unique and fresh entrées, First Watch offers its exclusive Sunrise Select® Premium Blend Coffee. The special blend is made from slow-roasted, hand-selected, high-grown Panamanian, Colombian and Mexican coffee beans.
First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The restaurant also offers guests complimentary newspapers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.
