Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill Adds Kabobs, New Tea to Menu

Denver-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a fast-casual restaurant concept specializing in authentic Mediterranean cuisine, announced today the addition of Kabobs and Hibiscus Mango Iced Tea Fusion to its menu selection.

Kabobs can be ordered as a platter entrée or as an added skewer to any entrée. Each Kabob Platter consists of two skewers of red bell pepper, green bell pepper and red onion, along with a choice of chicken, steak or Portobello mushroom, each seasoned with Garbanzo’s house-made marinade. The skewers sit atop a bed of rice and are served with hummus, vegetable salad and a choice of fresh baked white or wheat pita.

Additionally, a Kabob Box carryout option is available for families or groups and is comprised of eight skewers, seasoned rice, pita, hummus and vegetable salad.  And for catering customers, Garbanzo offers a Kabob K-tering Bar, which includes a choice of 20 skewers, hummus, vegetable salad, a choice of a second salad, a choice of two sauces, and 10 fresh baked white or wheat pita. The Kabob K-tering Bar serves nine to 10 guests.

The Hibiscus Mango Iced Tea Fusion, which is caffeine free, joins Mint Lemonade and Pomegranate Lemonade to expand the current specialty beverage lineup and achieve the next step in the concept’s beverage development strategy.  Garbanzo continues to offer its three sugar-free brewed teas: Pomegranate Crisp Green Tea, Quince Quencher Green Tea and Classic Iced Black Tea.

“Kabobs are a predominant meal of the Mediterranean region, and I am thrilled to now offer our traditional recipe to guests,” says Alon Mor, Garbanzo founder, president and CEO. “And just in time for summer, the addition of Hibiscus Mango Iced Tea Fusion provides guests with another specialty drink option and enhances our beverage category quite nicely.  It has a very unique, refreshing flavor that is low in calories and caffeine free. Both the Kabobs and new tea beautifully compliment our fresh, authentic flavors and healthy entrée choices.”

In celebration of the Kabob launch, Garbanzo is holding a Facebook contest through June 12, 2012 where the winner will receive a $100 Garbanzo gift card. To enter, participants should post an image on the Garbanzo Facebook page of themselves eating the new Kabobs. One winner will be chosen and announced after June 12.
