Denver-based restaurant brand teams with Fresquez Concessions for airport debut

Garbanzo To Bring A Taste Of The Mediterranean To Denver International AirportPassengers flying in and out of Denver International Airport (DEN) may soon have the perfect way to satisfy their craving for nutritious and delicious meals.

Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh – the leading Mediterranean cuisine brand renowned for its fresh-baked pitas, falafels and hand-marinated shawarmas – announced today that it has signed an exclusive franchise agreement with Fresquez Concessions, Inc., to open one or more dining operations in the DEN terminal.

Fresquez is an experienced airport concessionaire in the Southwest with a reputation for great concepts, strong operations, customer service and quality food and drinks. The company currently operates five restaurants at Final Approach, located at the DEN Cell Waiting Lot, and oversees 12 units in the Albuquerque International Sunport and an additional location in the El Paso airport.

“My team and I are absolutely thrilled to bring this exciting concept to the Denver airport,” said Charles Lenny Fresquez, CEO of Fresquez Concessions. “One of the main reasons we chose to partner with Garbanzo was because of the exceptional quality of its food. It’s based in Denver, caters to the health-conscious and the food is simple, fresh and authentically made. It’s a win-win for us, Garbanzo and DEN.”

Garbanzo is making fresh Mediterranean cuisine a mainstream favorite across the United States. Its authentic, nutrient-rich dishes derived from Old World recipes are served with a new twist, but without compromise. Every order is customized to the guest’s liking, from juicy, high-quality meats and salads made from scratch to gyros, wraps and pita baked from scratch all day. Garbanzo is dedicated to satisfying every palate – including vegetarian and gluten-free diners – and believes that “simple tastes better.”

“We’re seeing a definite shift from Mexican to Mediterranean, and a transition from sandwiches to shawarmas,” said James Park, CEO of Garbanzo. “Mediterranean food appeals to people from every background because its flavors have survived the test of time. We believe Garbanzo is a perfect fit for Denver International, and we can’t wait to open our first airport concession location there.”
