Modeled after successful restaurant weeks in cities like New York and San Francisco, it’s one more way that the Island is staking its claim on the culinary map. “Hilton Head Island is becoming known for its culinary scene with two Food Network chefs on the island and so many great restaurants to choose from, travelers get to experience the best in new Southern cuisine,” said visitor’s bureau Vice President Susan Thomas who noted that the popular Foodspotting app is this year’s media sponsor. “Foodies are finding that our Island has a lot to offer when it comes discovering fantastic food.”
