Homestead Winery Sweeps Annual Honors

Grapevine Wine Tours guests vote for Most Outstanding Wine and Winery

For the third consecutive year, guests of the Grapevine Wine Tours have chosen Homestead Winery as the city’s “Most Outstanding Winery.”  And this year, one of Homestead’s wines, Bois D’Arc, was also voted its “Most Outstanding Wine.”

Every guest of the Grapevine Wine Tours between August 1, 2012, and July 31, 2013, was asked tovote on their favorite wine and winery.  Homestead has been a frequent quarterly winner in both categories since the tours began in July 2010, as well as the winner of the first two annual winery awards.  Its wines are always among the most popular on the tours.

“We never get tired of Grapevine Wine Tours groups coming by our winery and we never get tired of earning their praise,” said Gabe Parker, owner of Homestead Winery.  “The tours have proven to be one of the most exciting additions to our local tourism industry since they started three years ago, and they have been instrumental in introducing thousands of visitors to the rich variety of wines grown here in North Texas.  We’re genuinely proud that their guests have singled out Homestead this year, both for our winery and our wines!”

Tours are available daily and rotate amongst all seven wineries in Grapevine: Cross Timbers Winery, Delaney Vineyards, D’Vine Wine, Farina’s Winery & Café, Homestead, La Buena Vida and Su Vino Winery. Every four-hour excursion includes tastings at two wineries, a delicious meal with wine at a third stop, a tour of Historic Grapevine led by a professional guide, and transportation to and from local hotels in an eye-catching tour bus or van.

“When we started our tours three years ago, we didn’t know how successful they’d be; but we knew we’d be selling outstanding products, which are Grapevine’s award-winning wineries,” said Nancy Childs, co-owner of Grapevine Wine Tours and its new sister operation, Dallas Wine Tours.  “The voting this year was tighter than ever, thanks to the great service and outstanding wines served by each of the wineries on our tours.  Homestead has been one of our most popular stops from the very beginning, and we appreciate all they do to take great care of our guests.”

“Over the past year, we added three more exceptional tour guides and a 15-passenger van to help us meet the increasing demand for our excursions,” continued Childs.  “And, of course, our biggest development was the introduction of our new Dallas Wine Tours, which are quickly becoming as popular and busy as those in Grapevine.”

Earlier this year, Grapevine Wine Tours was featured on the Discovery Channel as the “Best Wine Tour in Texas.”

Lunch and dinner tours in Grapevine, offered seven days a week, are affordably priced at $74.50 and $89.50, respectively.  Private group outings and other customized packages – designed for corporate team-building, conference and convention groups, bachelorette parties, fundraisers, birthday and anniversary celebrations and other special occasions – are also available.  Several area hotels now offer special packages including the wine tours.  See http://www.grapevinewinetours.com/pages/gwtpackages.html for more information.
