The Popular Health-Conscious Concept Gears Up For Expansion In Major U.S. And Canadian Markets
Hopscotch, the popular Ontario-based, health-conscious fast-casual concept, built on a commitment to better food, better communities, and a better planet, has announced the sale of a four unit franchise for the Edmonton, Alberta market.
Founded by brothers Wyatt and Aiden Booth, the inspired concept, which appeals to a broad range of customers and offers an innovative approach to healthy cuisine, stands out in the fast-casual dining sector by only using fresh, locally-sourced, sustainable ingredients and environmentally-friendly packaging. The modern concept was also founded on the mission to help and inspire the surrounding community by pledging a percentage of restaurant proceeds to fund healthy eating programs at local public schools.
Hopscotch teamed with local chefs to create an affordable and health-conscious menu featuring a variety of vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free dishes. The offerings include bowls, parfaits and loaded toasts, such as the vegan Avocado Smash with crushed avocado, tomato salsa and extra-virgin olive oil for breakfast; entrees like the Lucha Libre with brown rice, chicken, avocado, black beans, tomato salsa, sweet potato, scallions, cabbage, tortilla, cilantro, chipotle-lime vinaigrette and lime crema; hearty salads including the Spring Orchard with mesclun greens, apple, grapes, organic quinoa, radish, celery, pickled onions, croutons and cilantro tossed in hummus and lemon vinaigrette; and a varietal menu of nutritious smoothies, fresh juices and quality espresso drinks.
Hopscotch recently partnered with Fransmart, the industry-leading franchise development company behind the explosive growth of brands like Five Guys Burgers and Fries, The Halal Guys, and Qdoba Mexican Grill, as their exclusive franchise development partner to grow the brand.
“As university students, my brother and I saw a void of restaurants offering a health-conscious menu made with locally-sourced, sustainable ingredients, so we were inspired to create it,” said Wyatt Booth. “Teaming with a global franchising company will allow us to create a community of passionate food lovers like us, who can expand the concept in major U.S. and Canadian markets.”
Fransmart CEO Dan Rowe added, “To us, Hopscotch is the next generation of healthy fast-casual concepts where fresh and delicious dishes with refined flavor profiles are prepared quickly in beautiful, modern spaces. Customers vote with their wallets and Hopscotch already boasts twice the sales-per-foot volume than any of its competitors.”
The Hopscotch concept, which appeals to a wide range of demographics, is the fastest-growing, locally-sourced, healthy food concept in the U.S. and Canada. The concept requires minimal space, has great unit economics and can flourish in any economy. Hopscotch is currently looking for experienced multi-unit foodservice operators to develop franchise territories in major markets.
