Quintessential rock group The Molly Ringwalds have crossed the pond from their hometown of Sheffield, England, to showcase the timeless essence of the most radical generation, right down to the big hair, parachute pants and blue eye shadow. On Friday, Aug. 15, the popular ‘80s tribute band will be invading House of Blues Myrtle Beach as part of its blockbuster summer tour of the Southern U.S. The show starts at 8:30 p.m. and tickets are $19.

The band’s House of Blues circuit began last week in Dallas, and the excellent adventure continues with stops at the Orlando, Houston and Hollywood HOB venues through September.

The Molly Ringwalds are touring in support of their second official studio album, entitled “Glitterdome.” The CD, which features hits like “Jukebox Hero,” “Space Age Love Song” and “West End Girls,” can be found on iTunes and will be available for purchase during and after the concert.

The House of Blues shows anchor the second half of the group’s tour of the Southern United States, following their performances at the 56th Annual German-American Volksfest at Camp Kasserine in Grafenwoehr, Germany. The band headlined all three nights of the festival, which attracted more than 100,000 spectators.

From Quiet Riot and Flock of Seagulls to the Pet Shop Boys, Prince and just about every other 80s staple you can imagine, “The Mollys” bring back the iconic hits that defined a decade.The group has earned accolades across the continent, including “Best Rock Band” honors in cities like New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Pensacola, Mobile and Jackson, Mississippi.
