Iron Cactus, an award-winning Tex-Mex restaurant and margarita bar with five locations in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio, today announced that it will donate 20% for every restaurant gift card sold with a minimum gift card purchase of $25 to Soldiers’ Angels and Marbridge. The two charitable organizations will divide the funds raised evenly.
“Iron Cactus has been active in giving back to the community through various restaurant initiatives,” said Gary Manley, managing partner at Iron Cactus. “We are proud to partner with two diverse and service-oriented organizations for our first ever fundraising program through Iron Cactus gift cards.”
Soldiers’ Angels based out of San Antonio, TX, is a national nonprofit organization that assists veterans, active duty servicemen and women and their families. It was founded by Patti Patton-Bader, the grandniece of the war hero and icon General George S. Patton, in 2004 when her son was deployed in Iraq in 2003. Since then, Soldiers’ Angels has delivered hundreds of thousands of care packages to deployed soldiers and mobilized more than 200,000 volunteers across the country.
“We are thankful to receive fundraising support from Texas-based businesses like Iron Cactus especially at this time when there are many soldiers returning home from the war,” said Patton-Bader.
Iron Cactus has a long history with Marbridge, which is based in the Austin area. Marbridge provides residential care, education and training for adults with cognitive challenges. Since 1953, Marbridge has grown its campus and facilities and have helped thousands of adults with cognitive challenges meet their full potential.
“Iron Cactus has been a longtime and loyal supporter of our organization,” said James Stacey, president at Marbridge. “Through Iron Cactus’ contributions, we are able to help more special-needs adults lead productive and rewarding lives.”
