Iron Cactus Mexican Grill & Margarita Bar debuts its own tequila at its annual Tequila Tour on September 26th at the North Austin restaurant at 10001 Stonelake Blvd. Tequila Tour attendees will have a chance to sample the double barrel reposado created by Herradura specifically for Iron Cactus.
Since opening its first location on the corner of Trinity St. and 6th St. in downtown Austin, Iron Cactus has been on a mission to educate guests on the various qualities and types of tequila available. For 16 consecutive years, it has hosted the Tequila Tour where several new and popular tequila manufacturers come together under one roof to let guests sample a variety of tequilas.
“We’ve always been pioneers in making tequila a drink that people can enjoy on a daily basis much like wine or beer,” said Gary Manley, General Partner at Iron Cactus. “From introducing the first tequila on tap to bringing more than 100 different tequila brands at our restaurants to launching our own tequila brand, we’ve come a long way in growing the popularity of such a versatile beverage.”
Manley and the Iron Cactus team worked closely with Herradura in Guadalajara, Mexico, to ensure that the quality and taste of the Iron Cactus-branded tequila is unique. The Iron Cactus tequila is available at all Iron Cactus locations.
Guests who are interested in attending the Tequila Tour can purchase tickets in advance at the Austin locations of Iron Cactus or by visiting https://ictequilatour2013.eventbrite.com. Tickets are $25 (in advance), $30 (at the door), and includes 10 tequila samples, an Iron Cactus snifter, appetizers, live entertainment and free merchandise from tequila partners.
Iron Cactus serves award-winning Mexican dishes and premium hand-crafted margaritas. The original restaurant opened on historic 6th Street in downtown Austin in 1996. Since then, Iron Cactus has grown to five locations including restaurants in Dallas and San Antonio, and two additional Austin locations.
