Jersey Mike’s Subs Opened 10th Location In Orange County

Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in Orange on April 18.  Franchise owners Hector and Jennifer Haget held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, April 18 to Sunday, April 22 having all proceeds benefit the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).

The new restaurant, located at 763 S. Main Street, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community, which offered a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution and all proceeds benefitted CHOC.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike’s continued its steady growth in 2011 opening 69 new restaurants throughout the country, a 15 percent increase overall.  The popular sub shop wins best sub awards in virtually every market it enters.

Hector and Jennifer Haget exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company’s commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community.  In 2011, locations throughout the country raised more than $2 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 200,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

“I am excited to be continuing the growth of Jersey Mike’s in Orange County,” said Hector Haget.  “Not only does Jersey Mike’s offer a top quality product, but we also foster a strong commitment to charity and community.  Through our grand opening, we will support the excellent programs and services at CHOC.  Lifesaving healthcare for children is especially close to home for me.  Twelve years ago my son suffered from a medical condition and received outstanding care in a similarly specialized children’s hospital in Nebraska.  I see this fundraiser as an opportunity to give forward and support a world class healthcare organization that will continue to make an important difference in this community.”

Named one of the best children’s hospitals in eight specialties by U.S. News & World Report, CHOC earned the Gold Level CAPE Award from the California Council of Excellence, the only children’s hospital in California to ever earn this distinction, and was awarded Magnet designation, the highest honor bestowed to hospitals for nursing excellence.  In addition, CHOC is the first children’s hospital in the United States to earn the Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence.

Passionate Jersey Mike’s fans crave their subs made Mike’s Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices.  The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread.  Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike’s more than fifty years ago.  The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.

This is the 4th Jersey Mike’s location for the Haget’s.  In January 2008, they opened their first Jersey Mike’s location in Lake Forest, CA.
