JJ's Red Hots Invites Fans to Create Their Own Hot Dog In 3rd Annual 12 Days of Hot Dogs PromotionJJ’s Red Hots, known for its incredible ‘Dog of the Week’ creations, is letting anyone and everyone get in on the action this holiday season, as Charlotte’s favorite Hot Dog and Sausage joint is looking for the most unique Hot Dogs for its 3rd Annual ’12 Days of Hot Dogs’ promotion. Winners will be judged based on online and in-restaurant submissions from a provided list of toppings through November 23 @ 12 pm.

JJ’s, which has swept all of Charlotte’s Best Hot Dog awards for the past three years, will then pick 12 finalists, judged on dog toppings and dog name creativity, and feature each for a day during 12 Days of Hot Dogs, beginning December 7 through December 18. Each finalist will be invited to visit JJ’s to build and taste their Hot Dog. One winner, based on the most hot dogs sold for his or her day, will be chosen and will receive a $150 Amazon gift card.

“There is no greater joy than dressing up your own Hot Dog, so forget about that holiday sweater – you know, the one with the two reindeer getting it on and design your Hot Dog now,” said JJ’s founder Jonathan Luther. “This is really about fun, bragging rights and finding the next great Hot Dog, which is what our brand is all about.”

JJ’s, best known for its Hot Dogs but also its hand crafted artisanal sausages, house-made sides and toppings, has always encouraged fan-based recipes as part of its popular Dog of the Week program, which features specially designed and priced Hot Dogs, beginning each Monday. The promotion has been covered widely by the brand’s hometown Charlotte media and was even the subject of a USA Today article in 2014.

“As always, we’re just having some fun and looking for ways to get our fans and friends involved while creating new brand followers as we go,” said JJ’s director of marketing and brand development Brandy Newton. “It’s the greatest time of the year and we are looking for 12 great Hot Dogs and 12 great marketers to put as many hot dogs in people’s mouths in December as possible.”

The JJ’s brand remains on an unprecedented winning streak, having been recently honored by Fast Casual – for the second year running – in the annual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list. JJ’s was the smallest chain to make the list and the only Hot Dog/Sausage concept to receive the honor.

JJ's Red Hots Invites Fans to Create Their Own Hot Dog In 3rd Annual 12 Days of Hot Dogs PromotionJJ’s Red Hots is the premier purveyor of “hand-crafted” char-grilled hot dogs and sausages with two locations and several portable vehicles in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The restaurant concept is built on solid, hardworking values and is modeled after venerable establishments like Ted’s in Buffalo, NY, Gene and Jude’s in Chicago, and many others. Still, JJ’s is a true American original featuring house-made, scratch prepared sides and toppings served alongside time tested, revered American brands like Weber’s Mustard, Martin’s Rolls, and Coca-Cola. Perhaps most proudly, JJ’s Red Hots serves smokehouse hot dogs from Sahlen’s Meat Packing Company in Buffalo, NY. Sahlen’s is a 146 year-old company that remains family owned and operated, and makes, in our opinion, the best hot dogs in the world.
