The Whisky Dollars

“This is our favorite day of the year and for a small restaurant brand, this is a really big deal for us. It’s our annual day to show Charlotte what the buzz is all about,” said JJ’s founder and owner Jonathan Luther, whose band The Whisky Dollars will perform live as well as local favorite Time Sawyer. “We’ll serve you all of the sausage you could possibly eat. It’s going to be a great event. A family-friendly, dogs welcome kind of festival you simply won’t want to miss.”

Sausagefest will feature craft beer from NoDa Brewing Company, Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Free Range Brewing, Bird Song Brewing Co., Windy Hill Orchard and Cidery, Triple C Brewing Co., Wooden Robot Brewery, Sycamore Brewing, Unknown Brewing, Good Bottle and D9 Brewing Co. All attendees will receive a commemorative keepsake Sausagefest 15 (SF15) ½ pint glass. Treats from King of Pops and Hart’s Soda Shop will be on sale.

“Our entire menu is world-class and sausage is one of our most popular items so we decided to put a no limits sign on them for this annual event,” said Brandy Newton, JJ’s director of marketing and brand development. “This is our event of the year and we expect this to be the best one ever. I smell a sell-out.”

JJ’s 4rd Annual Sausagefest comes at a time while the brand remains on an unprecedented winning streak, having been recently honored by Fast Casual – for the second year running – in the annual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list. JJ’s was the smallest chain to make the list and the only Hot Dog/Sausage concept to receive the honor. JJ’s also won 3 consecutive Creative Loafing’s Best of Charlotte Readers’ Choice award for Best Hot Dog.

JJ's Red Hots Set for 4th Annual SausageFest, Saturday November 7JJ's Red Hots Set for 4th Annual SausageFest, Saturday November 7JJ’s Red Hots is the premier purveyor of “hand-crafted” char-grilled hot dogs and sausages with two locations and several portable vehicles in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The restaurant concept is built on solid, hardworking values and is modeled after venerable establishments like Ted’s in Buffalo, NY, Gene and Jude’s in Chicago, and many others. Still, JJ’s is a true American original featuring house-made, scratch prepared sides and toppings served alongside time tested, revered American brands like Weber’s Mustard, Martin’s Rolls, and Coca-Cola. Perhaps most proudly, JJ’s Red Hots serves smokehouse hot dogs from Sahlen’s Meat Packing Company in Buffalo, NY. Sahlen’s is a 146 year-old company that remains family owned and operated, and makes, in our opinion, the best hot dogs in the world.
