Partners since 1959, Aurelio’s Pizza and Dum Dums have something in common, they are both family-owned, well-loved brands and in recognition of their longstanding partnership, Spangler Candy recently presented Joe Aurelio with the first ever Golden Dum Dums Award.
Aurelio’s Pizza gives away over 1 million Dum Dums suckers chain wide each year, a tradition that began at Aurelio’s on its very first day in business back in 1959. Joseph A. Aurelio Jr., founder of Aurelio’s Pizza, believed that customer should receive a little treat after their meal, and found the Dum Dums sucker, in all its varieties, to be perfect.
In fact, five generations of Aurelio’s Pizza customers have come to love and expect their Dum Dums. Aurelio’s wait staff reports customers from 2 to 92 often argue over who gets what flavor.
