“I’ve lived in western Washington for 36 years and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like good barbecue,” said local owner Ben Harris. “Dickey’s food, service and atmosphere won me over as a customer years ago, so I looked into their franchising system and they seemed like the perfect opportunity for me— it’s easy to sell something that you loved as a customer.”
Friday, come on in for Dickey’s Barbecue merchandise giveaways. Saturday, radio station will be onsite from noon to 2:00p.m and this location will be serving $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches. There will also be a lucky winner chosen for a $500 gift card.
Before owning a Dickey’s, Harris managed stores for Home Depot. Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Kent is located at 1428 West Meeker Street and the store phone number is 253-852-5251. This is the 10th location in Washington.

Dickey’s Barbecue was founded by Travis Dickey with the goal of authentic slow smoked barbecue. More than 72 years later, the Dallas-based family-run barbecue franchise still offers a quality selection of signature meats, home style sides, tangy barbecue sauce and free kids meals every Sunday. All meats are slow smoked onsite in each restaurant. The fast-casual family-friendly concept has expanded to over 380 locations in 43 states and holds the title of the world’s largest barbecue franchise. This year Technomic named Dickey’s “Fastest-growing restaurant in the country” and they were also named “Best Franchise Deal” by QSR Magazine.
