Holiday treat shared on limited-edition steamer pack boxes now through end of year
The secret is out! This holiday season, The Krystal Company, famous in the South for its small square burgers, is spreading cheer by spreading the word about its own favorite holiday recipe for Thanksgiving stuffing. The once-secret recipe will be printed on limited-edition steamer pack boxes. In conjunction with the rollout of the recipe, the brand is partnering with Big Easy Foods, a producer of the TurDucHen holiday treat, to promote a new holiday favorite—the TurKRucHen—a turkey, stuffed with a duck, stuffed with a hen, stuffed with Krystal stuffing!
Secret Stuffing
“We wanted to share our recipe so that our guests would have a way to incorporate their favorite Krystal flavors into their family celebrations,” said Stan Dorsey, Vice President of Research and Development for the Krystal Company. “Krystal stuffing is a way to start a great new holiday tradition with all generations of Krystal Lovers.”
Guests must purchase one steamer pack of 24 Krystals in order to make the recipe, which serves between 10 and 15 people, so the cook gets an extra treat. Only 20 of the square burgers are needed for one batch of stuffing, so there are four extra Krystals for the hostess (or host) to enjoy for lunch or dinner.
Tur-Kruc-Hen – A New Holiday Treat
The TurDucHen is a Southern tradition, like the Krystal Company’s small square burgers, which is why the brand says it was a natural partnership for the holidays. The invention of the “bird inside a bird inside a bird” is attributed to Creole Chef Paul Prudhomme. While the process for stuffing a turkey or a TurDucHen is the same, the taste is totally different.
“The mouthwatering taste of the Krystal recipe really compliments our TurDucHens,” said Larry Avery, President of Big Easy Foods, the online distributor for TurDucHens. “We are pleased our loyal guests have yet another way to serve our great tasting product throughout the holidays and we are pleased to share a coupon towards a Krystal Steamer Pack with all of our direct mail orders from now until Christmas week.”
