Cajun crawfish boil, live music and more on tap for Mardi Gras, Feb. 9
The Rustic is celebrating Mardi Gras bayou-style this year with an authentic Cajun crawfish boil all day on Tuesday, Feb. 9.
But this is The Rustic, so you know they’ll be serving up a lot more than Louisiana’s best spicy crawfish, sold by the pound with potatoes and corn, along with plenty of Andouille and chicken jambalaya.
In addition to their full menu of farm-fresh, homestyle dishes, The Rustic will offer face painting and a photo bus from 4 – 8 p.m. and feature live music on stage with R&B/soul artist Tameca Jones beginning at 5 p.m. Tameca has been called the “Queen of Austin Soul” for her captivating voice and crowd-pleasing performances at such venues as the 2015 Austin City Limits Festival.
“Fat Tuesday is a day to let the good times roll, so we’re going to throw a party that will make you glad you didn’t make the trip to New Orleans this year,” said Kyle Noonan, co-owner of FreeRange Concepts, creator of The Rustic. “We’ll be boiling up a ton of crawfish with all the fixins, just like the Cajuns do, and we’ll have plenty of great music and fun activities that everyone will enjoy.”
In addition, starting Feb. 8, The Rustic will now feature live music every night of the week, extending its previous five-day schedule to Mondays and Tuesdays. Thanks to its new climate-controlled, covered patio, live performances can be enjoyed at The Rustic rain or shine, regardless of the temperature outside.
With its casual atmosphere, live musical acts and unique, full-service dining experience featuring farm-fresh, homestyle dishes and a Texas-sized selection of wines, spirits and 40 beers on tap, The Rustic has carved a distinctive niche among Dallas restaurants. The concept is the brainchild of Noonan, Sepkowitz and Texas country artist Pat Green, whose love of the outdoors and live music helped bring The Rustic to life. The result is a fun and relaxing concert and dining experience from a phenomenal patio, all under the big Texas sky.
