On September 26, Luby’s debuted its newest freestanding site in Eagle Pass, TX. Located at 564 South Bibb Avenue, the venue serves as a showcase for the popular, Texas-born cafeteria chain’s recently overhauled design prototype. The built-to-suit restaurant was constructed adjacent to Maverick County Airport and in close proximity to Mall de las Aguilas.
According to Peter Tropoli, COO of Luby’s, “We are excited to be expanding the Luby’s footprint in our home state and greatly appreciate the support we have received from the City of Eagle Pass to make this opening a possibility. We look forward to becoming an integral part of this community.”
Luby’s aims to become a gathering place in Eagle Pass with made-from-scratch comfort food and an inviting, neighborhood-centric ambience that will appeal to a wide range of customers with a focus on quality, value and convenience.
The open floor plan has a fresh and airy feel in part to the additional windows and resulting natural light afforded by the unattached site. The decor references both the Texas Hill Country and aspects of the Mid-Century modern movement, paying homage to the place and time of the brand’s 1940s era beginnings. Rich finishes include inviting accents of bronze and walnut, while a neutral background gives way to pops of vibrant color, including red, avocado and Mediterranean blue. Traditional, leather upholstered wood chairs are offset by contemporary fixtures and murals.
Luby’s, Inc. operates restaurants under the brands Luby’s Cafeteria, Fuddruckers and Cheeseburger in Paradise and provides food service management through its Luby’s Culinary Services division.
