Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que, celebrated for its authentic and award-winning bar-b-que and savory Southern-style food and hospitality at its 19 full-service restaurants in California, Arizona and Nevada, is marking its 25th anniversary this winter with a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Beginning Thursday, November 7, Lucille’s will bring back several fan-favorite menu items and debut a new lineup of non-alcoholic refreshers alongside a bold and smooth Espresso Old Fashioned cocktail, celebrating its rich tradition of handmade premium cocktails.
The limited-time only “Throwback Favorites” menu, available at all locations, features beloved classics that have made a lasting impression through the years. Selected from a survey of both guests and team members, these dishes are among the top fan-favorites:
- Loaded Comeback Fries: Crispy French fries topped with shredded jack cheese, applewood bacon, tangy “comeback” sauce, smoked jalapeños, sour cream and green onions.
- Cajun Chicken Pasta: A blast from the past with smoked pulled chicken, sautéed peppers and onions, and fresh garlic tossed in a creamy blackened tomato sauce with penne pasta and Parmesan cheese toast.
- Mardi Gras Chicken: Lucille’s most-requested dish, with hand-battered, crispy fried chicken breasts topped with spicy Creole cream sauce with shrimp, Texas hot link sausage and sweet bell peppers, and served with garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed seasonal vegetables.
- Beef Ribs for Two: Making a splash among guests just last year, a full rack of tender, big and meaty beef ribs, spice-rubbed and slowly smoked, then glazed with Lucille’s signature BBQ sauce. Guests will also enjoy a choice of three swoon-worthy sides.
“As we celebrate this incredible milestone — our 25th anniversary — Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que remains dedicated to delivering an authentic Southern dining experience that everyone can enjoy,” said Joan Hansen, vice president of marketing, Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que. “This anniversary year, we’ve shared our gratitude with guests through special menus, giveaways and promotions. These ‘Throwback Favorites’ are a testament to the deep and lasting connection we’ve built together over the years.”
In addition to the “Throwback Favorites,” Lucille’s will unveil three new, bold and refreshing “Free-Spirit” Refresher mocktails created to elevate the dining experience, including:
- Sassy Apple: A fresh and zesty mix of apple juice, Sprite and fresh lemon, plus a splash of Fever-Tree Ginger Beer and a dash of Monin Hot Honey for some extra zing.
- Strawberry Symphony: Lucille’s Sidewalk Strawberry Lemonade, strawberry purée, Sprite and a subtle kick of brown sugar-cinnamon to jazz it up.
- Watermelon Splash: Watermelon purée, fresh lime and Sprite served with a spicy Tajín rim and a fresh slice of watermelon.
For those seeking a more spirited option, Lucille’s new Espresso Old Fashioned is a modern twist on a cocktail classic, blending Old Forester Bourbon, Caffè Borghetti Espresso Liqueur, maple syrup, a coffee ice cube, Angostura bitters and a Luxardo cherry.
To kick off the “Throwback Favorites” and new beverages, Lucille’s will host a Sneak Peek for Two event from November 3 to November 6, 5 p.m. to close, at all locations. Guests can enjoy one of the new Free-Spirit Refreshers or the Espresso Old Fashioned, share Loaded Comeback Fries, and select an entree from the “Throwback Favorites” menu, including the Cajun Chicken Pasta or the Mardi Gras Chicken, or another one of Lucille’s most favorite signature items, the Southern Fried Chicken. To complete the meal, guests share a Snickers Ice Cream Pie, which was on Lucille’s very first menu in 1999. This luscious dessert includes chopped Snickers bars mixed with vanilla bean ice cream in a crisp chocolate cookie crust, and served with caramel and chocolate sauce, and topped with peanuts.
