Award-Winning Fast Casual Restaurant Celebrates With “Deli Bowl” Fundraising Competition Between Local High Schools
McAlister’s Deli, a leading fast casual chain, will open its newest location in Evansville at 5301 Pearl Drive on Monday, October 24 at 10:30 a.m. Known for its American Regional Favorites Served with a Smile, McAlister’s is home to handcrafted sandwiches, always-fresh salads, giant stuffed spuds, and Famous Sweet Tea.
To celebrate the new restaurant opening, the West Evansville McAlister’s will host a “Deli Bowl”, a competition between Reitz High School and Mater Dei High School to see who can raise the most money for their athletic program.
On Tuesday, November 1, Reitz High School students, faculty, and staff are invited to the West Evansville McAlister’s with 20 percent of the sales donated back to the school’s athletic fund. Then on Thursday, November 3, Mater Dei High School students, faculty, and staff will have their chance to earn 20 percent of the sales for their athletic fund. The school who raises to most money will receive an additional $500 donation.
The new restaurant is owned by franchisees and Evansville natives Kent and Leigh Ann Johnson. This is their second McAlister’s location in Evansville with plans to open three additional locations in Kentucky and Tennessee in the coming years.
