Innovative restaurant technology company positions itself for exponential growth with hire of cutting-edge tech development veteran
Curbit, a pioneer in AI-driven restaurant technology solutions, today announced a strategic addition to its leadership team, naming Fran Dougherty as CEO. Dougherty joined Curbit in April 2023, and officially took over the responsibilities of CEO in September, bringing an extensive background in high-tech and executive management.
Dougherty’s unmatched expertise is rooted in his more than 20-year career at Microsoft, where he held a variety of executive leadership roles. Dougherty was the driving force behind the incubation and scaling of Microsoft Azure into a multi-billion-dollar business, enabling organizations’ digital transformation of global enterprise and application migration at scale, with early adopters such as Walmart, Chevon, Equinor, UBS, Toyota and more.
“Restaurant/hospitality is primed for a similar digital transformation, because the exponential growth in off-premise ordering has created a unique challenge for restaurateurs: ensuring guests pickup food on time and that food production is prioritized based on guest proximity,” said Dougherty. “Curbit is uniquely positioned to address the symptoms of this industry-wide pain point. I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Curbit’s visionary founders Scott Siegel and Kevin Pidduck and our ecosystem of restaurant and technology partners.”
With Curbit’s advanced integrations with leading Kitchen Display System (KDS) and online ordering providers, its AI-powered dynamic order throttling solution creates the essential bridge between kitchen and digital operations, enabling automatic adjustments to order promise times based on actual kitchen capabilities. Guests are continuously informed on the progress of their order by SMS with promise times that track within 60 second ticket-time durations. The result is fresher food upon delivery, reduction in wait times and maximized throughput. With a rich view of real-time speed of service, Curbit empowers operators with kitchen intelligence to continuously improve and optimize revenue.
“Fran is a strategic leader that has executed at the highest levels,” said Co-Founder Scott Siegel. “His expertise is not only a significant boost for Curbit, but the restaurant/hospital industry as a whole.”
A resident of Redmond, Washington, Dougherty is a magna cum laude graduate of Mercer University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
