Irvine’s Westpark Plaza is MOD’s Second California Location
MOD Pizza continues its California expansion with the opening of their Irvine store – their 14th location – today, Wednesday, December 18, 2013. MOD Irvine is located in Westpark Plaza at 3965 Alton Parkway.
“We have been thrilled with the response to our first California store, which opened last month in Valencia. We’ve always believed Orange County would be a perfect environment for what MOD has to offer, so we couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Irvine community,” explains Scott Svenson, co-founder and CEO. “The MOD brand and culture continues to resonate with families, students and professionals who are looking for a cool and welcoming gathering place where they can enjoy fast, friendly service and fresh, high quality food, individualized for them at an incredible value. We plan to continue our expansion throughout the state in 2014, including Northern California. As always, we remain committed to creating one great location at a time.”
The store will open at 5:00pm with a celebration for the community, including free pizzas or salads for the first 52 customers in line and a drawing for “Free Pizza for a Year”.
MOD’s artisan-style pizzas are Made-On-Demand (MOD), using organic fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces. Customers can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of 30 featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Pizzas are the same price regardless of the number of toppings and are hand-cooked in an 800 degree oven in less than 3 minutes. MOD also offers local draft beers, wine, sweet and savory knots, milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.
MOD brought the “build your own pizza” concept to market in 2008 with the opening of their first restaurant in downtown Seattle. The company was founded by a small group of entrepreneurs led by Scott and Ally Svenson, who were inspired by their love of Italian street-style pizza, coupled with their desire for authentic and affordable fast casual dining options for their busy family. MOD is “simple food for complex times”.
MOD celebrates self-expression, genuine hearts, and individual spirits who are committed to enjoying life’s journey and creating not just a cool place to eat, but an inspired place to work. MOD takes pride in connecting with the local communities it serves, most recently “Spreading MODness” to local food banks, meal programs and shelters over the Thanksgiving holiday through a donation of over $20,000.
MOD Pizza operates 14 company-owned stores in Washington, Oregon and California. The company has been recognized as one of the “Top 50 Breakout Brands” by Nations Restaurant News and ranked as a “Fastest Growing Company” and “Best Places to Work” by the Puget Sound Business Journal.
