Hamburgers in the Hoosier State: MOOYAH Opens First Location in Indiana

Customizable Burger Franchise Chain Enters Indiana with Noblesville Opening

Hamburgers in the Hoosier State: MOOYAH Opens First Location in IndianaThe Hoosier State is about to get its first taste of the fast-casual, “better burger” franchise, MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes. The restaurant, which will open on August 31, 2015 in Noblesville, IN, marks the first for the international brand in the state and will be located at 17147 Mercantile Blvd. in the Stony Creek Marketplace.

The local owner of the Noblesville MOOYAH is Chris Frank; he is a social worker turned restauranteur that worked developing marketing strategy for dining services during his time at Indiana University in Bloomington, and was inspired by his experience in graduate school to open his own restaurant. Chris studied theology and worked for an international school in Vienna before moving to attend Indiana University to get his MBA in marketing. While earning his MBA, Chris felt the pull to return to the restaurant industry and took a job handling the marketing for all university restaurants to gain experience with the dream of eventually opening his own restaurant. Frank will realize that dream when he opens the doors to his first MOOYAH location in Noblesville.

“A restaurant seemed to be the perfect fit for my skills. I could combine my experience in business, operations and marketing and bring this new and exciting brand to Noblesville,” said Frank. “I am excited to be bringing a fresh concept to my community and I am confident that Noblesville will be just as crazy about MOOYAH’s burgers as I am.”

Frank learned about MOOYAH from a mentor in the franchise industry who had experienced MOOYAH at Baylor University and told Frank to look into the opportunity to bring the brand to Indiana. Frank loved the culture and concept. After doing some research, he recognized the brand’s growth potential and felt the timing was right to invest in his own restaurant. Parents of three boys, Frank and his wife, Anne, were drawn to the family-friendly nature of the brand and their boys have already come up with their own MOOYAH handshake.

“I wanted to make sure that if I was going to be a part of a larger company I wanted to be proud to wear its name,” said Frank. “I know that MOOYAH’s culture, customizable options and quality product will resonate with the families in my community like it did with me and my family.”

Frank isn’t stopping at just serving Noblesville. He has signed a three-unit deal and plans to continue developing the MOOYAH brand in the area with two more restaurants in the greater Indianapolis area.

“MOOYAH is expanding so quickly for a reason, and customers are responding to our product,” said Michael Mabry, chief operating officer at MOOYAH. “We are excited to open doors in Noblesville for the first time and truly believe that MOOYAH will fit into the community perfectly.”

At MOOYAH, Guests have the advantage of choosing from a variety of bun options, such as baked in-house artisan white or multigrain wheat buns and hand-crafted lettuce buns to accompany the never-frozen 100 percent American beef patty, all-natural Jennie-O turkey patty or the mouthwatering black bean veggie patty. Each gourmet burger can be customized with five types of cheese, applewood smoked bacon, sliced avocado, along with nine free veggie toppings and 11 free sauces.

MOOYAH French fries come together in a six-step process that takes a total of 24 hours to completely prepare. A delightful combination of constant attention and a little magic help transform U.S. #1 Idaho potatoes into perfect, crisp-on-the-outside and fluffy-on-the-inside fries. Guests also have the choice of savory sweet potato fries. Never one to forget dessert, MOOYAH offers real ice cream shakes, allowing Guests to choose from 10 flavors ranging from vanilla to Hershey’s chocolate to Reese’s to strawberry banana and more.

In 2015, MOOYAH is on pace to open 30 new locations and reach the milestone of 100 before the close of the year. The booming better burger brand is set to enter several new states in 2015, with the first MOOYAH restaurants in Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, and Florida scheduled to open this year. Additionally, the brand will increase their established presence in states including California, Texas, Illinois, and Louisiana, with five more scheduled openings in New Jersey alone. The brand continues to spread the unique MOOYAH experience beyond domestic borders too. MOOYAH will open their first restaurant in Qatar in 2015, marking the 7th country MOOYAH has entered outside the U.S.
