New Dickey's Barbecue Potato Chips Serve up Support for Veterans

Just in time for July 4th, Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc., the nation’s largest barbecue chain, is introducing a new line of proprietary potato chips with the motto “Eat chips. Help veterans.”  A portion of the proceeds from the chips will go to Hope for the Brave, an organization focused on increasing services for veterans and their families as they transition from combat to civilian life.

“I’m so proud of our new chips,” said Roland Dickey, Jr., president and CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “They are an exciting new menu offering that allows our guests the ability to directly  affect the lives of returning veterans around the country.”

The chips will arrive in select test locations on July 14 and will roll out nationwide in September.  Dickey’s masterfully crafted and bold new potato chips come in three flavors — Original, Barbecue and Jalapeno Cheddar.

  • Original – Thin cut potato chips with a simple, traditional flavor that pairs perfectly with slow smoked barbecue.
  • Barbecue – Flavored with the same special blend of spices used in Dickey’s famous barbecue sauce that has been passed down for generations.
  • Jalapeno Cheddar – For those who like a bold kick of spice, fresh jalapeno flavor with a tangy cheddar finish.

Dickey’s Barbecue was founded by Travis Dickey with the goal of authentic slow smoked barbecue. More than 73 years later, the Dallas-based family-run barbecue franchise still offers a quality selection of signature meats, home style sides, tangy barbecue sauce and free kids meals every Sunday. All meats are slow smoked onsite in each restaurant. The fast-casual family-friendly concept has expanded to over 425 locations in 42 states and holds the title of the world’s largest barbecue franchise. This year Technomic named Dickey’s “Fastest-growing restaurant in the country” and they were also named “Best Franchise Deal” by QSR Magazine.
