Milledgeville, GA – Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders
Work continues on getting Milledgeville’s newest chicken finger restaurant open for business. Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders looks to open in mid- to late April according to Ilene Lieber, a public relations consultant for the Florida-based restaurant chain. Huey Magoo’s had at first eyed a January opening, but construction delays pushed the target to March. Now the new dining option is shooting for later this month.
Columbia, SC – Peebles Barbecue and Wings
Peebles Barbecue and Wings, previously known as Peebles Wing Shack, is opening in April, it announced in a social media post. This will be the second location in Columbia, after the Rosewood restaurant.
Franklin, TN – Tamale Joe’s
A restaurant serving up tamales using the owner’s family recipe, handed down through generations, plans to open its doors in Franklin this summer. Tamale Joe’s, a fast casual restaurant, plans to open in June, joining the growing Mexican food dining scene in the Nashville area. But founder Joe Morales is absolutely positive diners have never had tamales like his before.
Whitehall, PA – Shake Shack
A popular burger chain will beef up the Lehigh Valley’s dining scene in the coming months. Shake Shack, which describes itself as a “modern day roadside burger stand” serving a classic American menu of premium burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, crinkle cut fries, shakes, frozen custard, beer and wine, is planning to open its first Lehigh Valley location later this year at the Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall Township, according to the mall’s online directory.
Quakertown, PA – Bubbakoo’s Burritos
The Quakertown area will welcome two fast-casual burrito restaurants — Bubbakoo’s Burritos and Chipotle — within close proximity of each other later this year. First, Bubbakoo’s Burritos, a New Jersey-based chain offering made-to-order burritos, quesadillas, tacos and more, is set to open in late May or early June at 252 N. West End Blvd. in Richland Township, according to company spokesman Tom Mirabella.
Denison, TX – Monet’s Bistro
A new Katy Depot venue is set to open next weekend in the old Tupelo Honey building. The Arts Depot is designed to be an artistic hub with 4 elements: an art gallery to display local art, Monet’s Bistro, a restaurant and bar, a back porch for special events and a community theater. The Core Theater in Richardson will perform inside the space. Artistic director and founder of the Core Theater says he was looking for a place north of Dallas to bring their shows.
