San Diego, CA – Tacotarian
Vegas-born Tacotarian is heading to California, dropping a location in San Diego. The plant-based brand will spread the gospel of tacotarianism to the community of North Park next. Fresh on the announcement of their fourth restaurant opening in the Las Vegas market this Spring, Tacotarian will enter California to open their fifth spot. Vegans, Baby reports that Tacotarian will replace fellow Las Vegas restaurant, The Modern Vegan, now closed at 30th Street and El Cajon Boulevard.

Cleveland, OH – Compass
Compass, a cocktail lounge planned as an extension of 1330 On The River, plans to open this summer in the lower floors of the historic Frank Morrison & Son Co. Building.

Dallas, TX – Chili’s
There’s a new Chili’s opening near the Dallas campus of Southern Methodist University that represents a brand new model for the chain. It’s going into the former Starbucks at 3036 Mockingbird Ln., in the same venerable center at the intersection of US-75 that’s home to Barnes & Noble and La Madeleine. Starbucks closed in summer 2021.

Wilmington, NC – Covey
Covey Property LLC is seeking a conditional rezoning to allow for its new eatery at the southeast corner of Independence Boulevard and Tiburon Drive. The neighborhood restaurant would seat 100 diners in the main room and lounge, plus 44 on the patio, at least 30 at the wine bar and more in a private dining space. “‘Covey’ means ‘a group or gathering,’” according to the project narrative, submitted by the applicant Brandon Wilson. “That name was chosen because this restaurant is intended to be a neighborhood restaurant.”

Franklin, TN – Neighbors Franklin
Neighbors Franklin, a bar and restaurant, will open a new location in April within the McEwen Northside development in Franklin, according to the ownership. The new restaurant will be located at 4031 Aspen Grove Drive, Ste. 162, Franklin. It will offer 24 beers on tap, will serve a menu including smoked meats, and is adding new menu options such as grilled chicken and salmon, according to the ownership.

Greenwood Village, CO – Hangry Ohana
Hangry Ohana, a popular Hawaiian barbevue chain, is set to open a brand-new location in Greenwood Village. With locations in Fountain, Monument and Parker, owners Grant and Yoona Conrad have been making their way north for a few years and are now preparing to open yet another joint at 9668 East Arapahoe Road in mid to late May.
