Just in time for football’s biggest day of the year, Wingstop has landed in Warren, Mich. The national chicken wing chain has opened its newest location at 28656 Dequindre Road.
And with the new opening, the Wing Experts in Warren will join more than 7,000 crew members nationwide as they prep for Super Sunday, when Wingstop expects to sell more than 6 million wings at 550 locations across the country, including three restaurants in Detroit.
“Chicken wings are more popular than ever,” said Stephen Davidson, a 30-year food service industry veteran and owner of the Warren restaurant. “We’re excited to open our doors and start serving fresh, cooked-to-order wings and fries to football fans in time for the big game.”
Since opening its first location in Michigan last year, Wingstop has quickly developed its presence in Detroit. In addition to Warren, there is a location now open at 28517 Schoolcraft Rd. in Livonia and 25110 Evergreen Road in Southfield. The concept plans to open two additional restaurants in the area this year.
To celebrate the arrival of Wingstop in Detroit, all three locations are planning a grand opening on February 9. The event will include a sampling day that invites the community to taste Wingstop’s award-winning wings for free.
With a sole focus on cooked-to-order chicken, the Wingstop menu features classic and boneless wings, chicken strips and Glider sandwiches – all sauced and tossed in 10 original flavors. Homemade side dishes include seasoned fries, cut fresh daily from Idaho potatoes, baked beans and potato salad.
