Newk’s Bringing Fresh, Fast and Flavorful Menu to Atlanta Area Dining Scenes
Newk’s Eatery – a fast-casual restaurant brand known for its fresh-tossed salads, artisan pizzas, hot toasted sandwiches and made-from-scratch soups and desserts— is expanding its Atlanta area presence this month with two new restaurants. Following the grand opening of a location in Dunwoody, Ga. across the street from Perimeter Mall on November 16, Newk’s Eatery is scheduled to open its seventh restaurant in the state at The Forum on Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree Corners, Ga. by the end of the year. Neighboring Newk’s locations include Brookhaven, Druid Hills, Midtown Atlanta, Lawrenceville and Newnan restaurants.
“Newk’s Eatery isn’t your typical fast-casual restaurant,” said Jay Medley, Newk’s franchisee and Glacier Hospitality, LLC co-owner. “Each item on our menu is handmade fresh in-house— every morning, we’re up early flame grilling chicken and steaks, hand-chopping vegetables and mixing our own dressings. We truly take a hands-on approach to every meal, delivering unbelievably fresh, flavor-rich food without the wait.”
In 2011, the two franchise teams behind the upcoming grand openings first introduced the Newk’s Eatery brand to the state of Georgia. Now each opening their second Newk’s restaurant, the two groups are continuing their area expansion plans. Targeting the northern perimeter of Atlanta, Glacier Hospitality, LLC— headed up by father-son business team Doug and Jay Medley— is setting down deeper roots just outside the metro area with the new Dunwoody location in addition to the group’s existing Brookhaven restaurant. NEC the Forum, LLC meanwhile will be maintaining its focus on Gwinnett County with its Peachtree Corners restaurant and partner location in Lawrenceville.
“The greater Atlanta area is a prime home for a foodie brand like Newk’s,” said Greg LaFoe, NEC the Forum, LLC owner and operator. “I believe our emphasis on premium ingredients and our pairing of creative flavor profiles along with the time-tested family recipes of our brand founder really speak to local diners here. We aim to keep growing even further into the market over the next five to 10 years.”
Located at 1181 Hammond Drive, Newk’s Dunwoody restaurant— located across from Perimeter Mall— will offer indoor dining for 144 guests and patio dining for nearly 20 more in its 4,150 square-foot space. In mid-November, the Peachtree Corners location will open in The Forum at 5185 Peachtree Parkway, providing indoor seating for approximately 150 guests and patio dining for nearly 25 more in its 4,025 square-foot space. The restaurants will provide job opportunities for roughly 140 applicants within the area.
At Newk’s, there is something for everyone to enjoy from the restaurant’s diverse menu that is meticulously handcrafted with rigorously selected fresh ingredients, including imported cheeses and prime meats, seasonal vegetables, house-roasted garlic, infused olive oils and more. A selection of wines and beer, along with desserts homemade in Newk’s very own company bakery, are also available in-restaurant. The fast-casual restaurant additionally delivers lunch to the table or to the office with its robust catering service and offers guests flavorful meals on the go with its convenient Grab-N-Go and online ordering options.
The Jackson, Miss.-based Newk’s Eatery currently has more than 85 locations in 13 states and plans to expand to more than 200 units by the end of 2018. Newk’s Eatery has been named among FastCasual.com’s top 20 “Movers and Shakers” and is featured on Technomic’s list of top 50 fast-casual chains nationwide, while ranking among the top “Fast and Serious” franchise brands in Franchise Times magazine.
