Nick the Greek Makes the Switch to PASMO America's Soft Serve MachinesOne of the fastest growing restaurant franchises in the country, Nick the Greek, has selected PASMO America’s soft serve machines for their future Nick the Greek locations. PASMO’s soft serve machines were selected for their quiet operation, reliability, energy efficiency, and ease of use.

Nick the Greek was founded in 2014 by three Greek cousins all named Nick and began franchising in 2019. The concept has more than doubled the number of units in the past three years and expects to reach 150 units by 2025. Currently, there are 60 units with another 20 expected to open by the end of the year.

The Greek founders of Nick the Greek wanted to share their love of Greek food with others. The menu includes beef, chicken, pork, falafel, and veggies served in pitas, plates, salads, and bowls. For dessert, they serve Greek frozen yogurt and baklava.

In December 2022, the founders sold controlling interest of Nick the Greek to a strategic investor, Anil Yadav’s YTG Enterprises. Yadav is the owner-operator of nearly 600 restaurants nationwide, including Taco Cabana, Jack in the Box, Denny’s, and TGI Fridays. It’s expected that Yadav’s experience, connections, and expertise will allow for even faster growth for the brand.

According to the Chief Operations Officer of Nick the Greek, Komiel Mohsenzadegan, Nick the Greek has fueled its growth by keeping operations simple, efficient, and scalable. Development costs are a modest $400,000 to $600,000 with system average unit volumes of $1,500,000 and rising. The switch to PASMO America soft serve machines helps in several ways, including ease of use, reliability, efficiency, and competitive pricing. A PASMO counter-top soft serve freezer is priced at 30-50% less than the current vendor depending on model and configuration. Nick the Greek also selected Sweet Chills Rainbow’s End to provide the Greek yogurt mix.

“PASMO machines allow Nick the Greek locations to provide efficient service to customers. The increased machine efficiency allows our restaurants to increase froyo production against our previous machines,” said Komiel Mohsenzadegan. “PASMO has been a reliable partner and has reduced machine down time by 65%. The self-agitating feature of PASMO machines preserves product, improves the dispensed product, and reduces labor time.”

“PASMO is honored to support Nick the Greek’s growth by making it as easy as possible to get new soft serve machines to Nick the Greek locations. Our soft serve machines were built with efficiency in mind and they’re easy to install, use, and maintain,” said George Dunlap, Director of Sales of PASMO America. “Our partners and customers know that PASMO machines are reliable and provide superior results.”

As for selecting Sweet Chills’ Rainbow’s End soft serve Greek yogurt mix, Mohsenzadegan adds, “Sweet Chills product has provided us with a competitive advantage in flavor profile against competitors while maintaining cost efficiencies and ease of use.”

Selecting the right vendors has helped Nick the Greek create a repeatable, consistent experience for guests. Smart supply chain choices have allowed Nick the Greek to grow units 200% over the last 18 months.
