Ottawa's Second Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip Opens in Kanata

Popular bakery café chain built on iconic brand continues Canadian expansion

Some smells are impossible to resist.  And none make the mouth water quite like freshly baked Nestlé Toll House cookies.  In fact, even reading these words probably conjures up a flood of childhood memories.

Those sweet sensations, and more, await customers at Ottawa’s second Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip, which opened its doors on Thursday, January 23rd, at 5373 Fernbank Road in Kanata.  It joins the area’s original location at 3350 Fallowfield Road in Barrhaven.

The latest opening signals  Nestlé Toll House Café’s commitment to continued growth throughout Canada, where its world-famous cookies and baked treats have always been loved.  Three additional cafés are slated to open in the country in the immediate future.

Local business couple Ayman Abbas and Feda Shureih own the local franchise.

“Even though everyone knows us for our delicious chocolate chip cookies, we’re also becoming a destination for coffee lovers thanks to the premium coffee and espresso we serve,” said Abbas.  “We like to think of our café as more than a typical restaurant.  It’s a place to relax, indulge in a fresh-baked confection and re-charge for the day’s activities.”

The premium dessert destination concept is built around the world’s most powerful food name – Nestle. Along with its universally loved Nestlé Toll House cookies and cookie cakes, the café serves brownies, muffins, smoothies, self-serve yogurt, waffle cones, premium coffee, espresso and newly introduced Crepes for lunch.

“We are extremely proud to have Ayman and Feda as part of our franchise community,” said Shawnon Bellah, Senior Vice President of International Operations for Nestlé Toll House Café.  “They both bring a level of detail to customer service that elevates the Nestlé Toll House Café experience to greater heights.  In addition, the Kanata location more firmly plants our roots in the Ottawa market from which we can expand our indulgent offerings to our friends throughout Canada.”

The new Kanata café, just down the street from the new Walmart on the corner of Terry Fox and Fernbank, is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
